Whoopi cuts off Kevin McCarthy’s 9/11 comments

Whoopi Goldberg wasn’t too impressed with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s remarks on Sunday, on which he chose to criticize Joe Biden despite it being the 21st anniversary of 9/11.

So, the host of “The View” gave McCarthy some advice: “If you can’t stick to the meaning of the day, don’t get on television.”

As the country celebrated the day in remembrance, McCarthy used his time on Fox News to say that in 2001 “we had a commander in chief who united the country rather than divided it,” as well as Criticized Biden’s foreign policy. And to her, Whoopi had nothing but a distaste for McCarthy.

Whoopi said, “You can attack anyone you want at any time.” “If you have a class, you’ll remember that Americans died. People got out of those buildings in the best way possible. And if that’s not enough to hold you back on what the prize is—that sure is.” Making sure it doesn’t happen again – and you feel like there’s an absolute need to bring stuff you can bring a day later, is a problem.

Whoopi then noted that her words were not directed only at McCarthy, but at any politician who has ever felt the need to be political on 9/11 or at a time of tragedy in the country.

“I’m talking to all the politicians. If you can’t stick to the meaning of the day, don’t come on television,” he added. “No one wants to see you. People want to feel that you really care about the people who are left and what they have gone through. And if you don’t care, don’t tell us where you are that day, okay? You don’t have to look.”

As the women debated whether a sense of unity could be re-reached for all Americans when another tragedy like 9/11 occurred, host Sarah Haines argued that “I don’t think today’s politicians really belong together.” Can come. I think the American people could.” She largely agreed that McCarthy’s comments were at the wrong time.

“I think when we say ‘never forget’, there has to be a certain sanity to that day,” Haynes said. “Not only were 3000 people killed, there are thousands of first responders who have died from the disease and otherwise. So if we can’t stay true to that date, and consider it sacrosanct, it tells me little politically how it will go. ,
