The best and worst moments of the 2022 Emmys

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were a strollright?

When an evening begins with a dancing ode to Friends, includes a belted acceptance speech and makes Lizzo cry, you know you’re going to run the gamut of human emotions during the three-hour telecast.

And on that score, this year’s Emmys didn’t disappoint. There were some fun random moments (Ted Lasso himself and Succession‘s Logan Roy sitting next to each other! What were they talking about? !) and goofy hijinks (Jennifer Coolidge’s funky outro!) mixed with interludes of pure joy (yay, Abbott Elementary School‘s Sheryl Lee Ralph!) and several examples of “Wait, what just happened?” (we know being an Emmys announcer is a thankless job, but let’s go).

Your dedicated team here at TVLine watched the Emmys very closely – like, very up close — and picked out a bunch of memorable moments that made us laugh, cry, wince, or facepalm. But we know that you also paid close attention, so we are also extremely interested to know what you thought of the annual awards ceremony. So grade Monday’s Emmy aired in our poll below (or click on this link to vote), then keep scrolling to see all of our picks for the best and worst moments of the night.
