Will There Be a Ted Lasso Season 4? Jason Sudeikis Not Sure

Your guess is as good as Jason Sudeikis’ when it comes to whether or not “Ted Lasso” will be Season 4. While producers have previously said that the Apple TV+ series will end with Season 3, they insisted in the press room on Monday at the Emmys that they have no idea about the show’s future.

“I think you’ve been misled,” he replied when a reporter suggested that he, of anyone, would know best whether the show could continue beyond Season 3. “I don’t know. It depends on more factors than me.”

When pressed for more, Sudeikis said that “the response to the show has been overwhelming,” but he still couldn’t say whether it was enough to warrant more.

“I know this part of the show is what it was supposed to be, and it will be what it was lucky to become,” he said. “But as far as Season 4 goes, I apologize for not giving you a more direct answer because I understand it’s helpful to have headlines.”

And even if he had more answers, the newly minted Emmy winner (Sudekis won his second Best Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy on Monday while the show took home Best Comedy Series) joked that he Wouldn’t let the rest of us go anyway, adding: “If I had known, I wouldn’t have told you.”

“Ted Lasso” writer and actor Brett Goldstein, who also won an Emmy on Monday night, previously told The UK Sunday Times that the show was only planned as a three-season run. However, Sudeikis has previously left room for speculation – not to make his non-answer surprising at all.

“The story that is being told — that three-season arc — is what I see, know and understand,” Sudeikis said in a previous interview With Entertainment Weekly. “I’m glad they’re willing to pay for those three seasons. What happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.”

A “Ted Lasso” Season 3 premiere date has yet to be determined, but production on the new episodes began in March. The show took home a total of four gold medals during the 74th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. View the full list of winners here.
