Best – Kumail Nanjiani’s Honorary Guest Bartender Bit
A gleeful surprise segment involved Kenan Thompson spotlighting Kumail Nanjiani as the evening’s guest honorary bartender from the audience. Thompson yelled at Nanjiani in a white suit, who he said he didn’t have time to mess around with because he was under a lot of stress and pressure making drinks he didn’t know how to make. A stressed out Kumail tried to throw alcohol bottles at his back like Tom Cruise in “Cocktail”. So Jason Sudeikis (perhaps as Ted Lasso?) walked over to the bar and ordered a mojito, but Nanjiani said he didn’t know what that entailed and handed him a bottle of hard liquor.
Closing the deal, Kel Mitchell, who kept his head down in the corner of the bar the entire time, appeared when Thompson asked him what he wanted. His response was “Can I get a good burger?”, alluding to the comedy duo’s appearance in the movie-turned-sketch “Good Burger.” Thompson enthusiastically hugged Mitchell before the two began jumping back and forth.
