Drew Barrymore welcomed TikTok sensation Tariq — better known as the “Corn Kid” — to their show on Tuesday, and together, they tried just about every corn-flavored thing they could find. And in the process, Barrymore was able to poke a little poke at her viral TikTok video.
weird, you’ve probably heard Viral “Corn Kid” song From TikTok, which interviewed a little boy after trying corn on the cob for the first time, sung by The Gregory Brothers. In it, Tariq expresses his love and awe for corn, “a big lump with a knob.” So, during Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Barrymore and Ross Matthews brought Tariq to the table to expand their corn horizons.
Together, they tried corn soda—which was unanimously determined to be disgusting—and corn on the cob with Nutella and sprinkles. (Tariq gave a spirited double thumbs to the latter). Eventually, however, Barrymore asks if Tariq has ever seen Tom Hanks’ classic “Big,” in which Hanks’ character munches on a baby corn. Tariq said no, but was ready to try! But uh, it was another loser.
“Yes, it tastes like rain water but –” said Tariq.
Naturally, Barrymore, Matthews and the audience laughed at Tariq’s assessment. It also provided the host the perfect opportunity to make a little fun of their viral TikTok moment.
“Rain water! Where have you been all my life, I love rain!” said Barrymore. When Matthews pushed him a little further, Barrymore insisted again that “I love rain.”
The actress is, of course, referring to a tiktok she posted In which she is really enjoying the rain outside. In it, she laughs happily, close to crying, and encourages everyone to go out in the rain “whenever you can!” The video exploded on TikTok itself, giving fans an idea of how happy Barrymore was with a very natural incident.
