Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra has closed its opening week with collections of Rs. 170 million dollars. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, collected Rs. 9.25 crores on the seventh day, with a total collection slightly above Rs. 170 million dollars. The weekday trend was slightly lower than expected, but the film should enter Rs. 200 crore club by the end of the second weekend.

The drops are on the high side and it’s the strong run through the opening weekend that has put the film in a good position nationally so far. Brahmastra will be looking at a second Friday in the range of Rs. 7 crores and from there on the clock Rs. 30 crores in the second weekend to enter the Rs. 200 crore club. The multiplexes continue to be the biggest contributor as the mass belts are on a downward journey on weekdays.

of Rs. 170 crores, about Rs. 150 crores comes from the Hindi version and the remaining Rs. $20 million has come out of South Dubbed. In the next 2 days, Brahmastra will fall over Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 to emerge as the second highest-grossing film of the year after The Kashmir Files. the budget of Brahmastra however, is much higher and therefore, despite the high numbers, it is not a clean hit.

Brahmastra so far it has been a trend like Marvel Superhero movie, targeting the youth of the country, which is why the collections are skewed with big jumps on weekends and rather bigger drops on weekdays. The trend should continue until the release of Vikram Vedha as the public reaction is not negative, but rather mixed, suggesting that there will be more and more jumps over the weekends.
