The Sandman’s VFX Supervisor Offers Cautiously Positive Season 2 Update

The Sandman debuted on Netflix earlier this year, and while a second season hasn’t been given the green light, a lot of work has already been done on it.

Neil Gaiman may have downplayed reality the sandman getting a second season on Netflix, though viewership numbers may not be enough to get the green light on what was a very expensive production. However, the sandman‘s VFX supervisor Ian Markiewicz was not so reluctant and recently revealed in an interview with screen frenzy exactly how much work has already been put into season 2 development.

the sandman was a visually triumphant series on Netflix earlier this year, bringing Neil Gaiman’s characters to life in a way that probably wouldn’t have been possible a decade ago. With an all-star cast including Tom Sturridge in the lead role of Morpheus/Dream, the fantasy realms created in the series were nothing short of breathtaking, and the storylines were drawn from some of Gaiman’s stories, although there is still much to do. told. While discussing the second season, Markiewicz explained:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“We have a really great framework for what we think Season 2 will look like. Allan is still updating scripts and reworking things, but we’ve got a bow. Until fairly recently, I think maybe two weeks or so, Gary, our production designer, myself and Allan meet over lunch, and we’ll script during that meeting. It’s like, “Okay, let’s look at 201,” and we’ll do our analysis together, where we’ll turn pages at 201, and we’ll say, “Okay, what are we thinking? Where can we film this? Can we film this in a real space? If not, what should we build, if we need to build it? Are we building this as a physical set, or can it be a building as a virtual set or a combination of those? Is it physical to some degree? , and then digitally?” I try to break them all down to say, “What’s the most value for this, what’s the most sensible way to cover the need for what we need?” That process is underway now, which is great, and it’s really fun and exciting to have season 1 and behind us to know what we’ve been working there, things that we kind of wanted to refine, and how that affects is our approach for season 2.”
