Pop titans BTS will present their World Expo 2030 Busan Korea concert – BTS in BUSAN (hereinafter “BTS in BUSAN”) – through the global fandom platform Weverse. The worldwide broadcast on ‘Weverse Live’ will capture the upcoming concert taking place on October 15 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
BTS’ Busan Concert For World Expo 2030 Bid To Be Streamed Live On The Weverse Platform Worldwide
As the official streaming platform for ‘BTS in BUSAN’, Weverse will bring together their technical skills and expertise for the live broadcast. Based on their capacity to drive large-scale traffic forward by previously hosting numerous artist shows on the platform, Weverse plans to build a stable streaming environment that maximizes convenience for the audience.
Recently in July, Weverse had audiences from 220 countries/regions enjoy performances by BTS member j-hope and TOMORROW X TOGETHER of Lollapalooza, streamed via Weverse Live. The live streaming was served to a large audience for a total of 16.28 million fans in a stable viewing environment on the platform.
In addition, the translation support language has been expanded from existing Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese to Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai for a total of 8 languages to diversify the service for viewers around the world.
In June 2022, it was announced that BTS, the newly appointed ambassadors for Busan’s World Expo 2030 bid, would hold the Global Busan Concert in support of the country’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan Metropolitan City. HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and CEO Park Jiwon, and Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City Park Heong Joon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Busan Metropolitan City Hall to promote Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030. As part of the agreement, BTS will act as ambassadors for the Global Busan Concert in an effort to bring the World Expo 2030 to Busan.
The memorandum addresses joint initiatives for Busan to succeed in its host bid. It includes BTS to: Act as ambassadors; Holding Global Concert in Busan, activities to address the members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE); Introduce personally the proposed site for the BIE fact-finding missions; Serve as ambassadors at South Korea’s presentation session; Be present on Election Day to support the bid; Provide photos and videos for the city’s digital campaigns, and; Distribute promotional videos through official social media channels and more.
