In August, it was reported that Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja had become proud parents of a baby boy. Well, almost a month later, the parents revealed that they named their son Vayu. Sonam and Anand took to social media to announce the same and posted a picture of the three with the little one’s name.

In addition to sharing an image in the post, Sonam also wrote a note revealing the reason behind naming their son Vayu. She shared the same, adding: “In the spirit of the power that has given our lives new meaning… In the spirit of Hanuman and Bheem who embody immense courage and strength… In the spirit of all that is sacred , life-giving and eternally ours, we seek blessings for our son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja.”
Going further, Sonam wrote: “In Hindu scriptures, Vayu is one of the paanch-tatvas. He is the deity of breath, the spiritual father of Hanuman, Bheem and Madhav and he is the incredibly powerful lord of the wind. Praana is Vayu, a guiding force of life and intelligence in the universe. All the gods of Praana, Indra, Shiva and Kali pertain to Vayu. He can breathe life into creatures as easily as he can destroy evil. Vayu is said to be heroic, brave and enchantingly beautiful. Thank you for your continued wishes and blessings to Vayu and his family.”
Following this announcement, family and friends of the new parents responded quickly and shared their pride in selecting a powerful name for the little one.
