Logan Lerman joins Joy King in We Were the Lucky Ones series

Logan Lerman will star alongside Joy King in Hulu’s developing limited series “We Were the Lucky Ones” based on Georgia Hunter’s best-selling novel, TheWrap.

Lerman will portray Eddie, a Polish and Jewish 25-year-old who lives as an engineer in Paris, but who also builds on his music composing career. Addy is the middle child in her family, and she is able to mediate conflict between people with differences. He is also very useful. The character of Addy is inspired by the story of Georgia Hunter’s grandfather, a young man in the late 1930s.

The logline for the series reads: “Inspired by the incredible true story of a Jewish family separated at the start of World War II, determined to survive and reunite. Based on the New York Times bestseller, “We Were the Lucky Ones” A tribute to the victory of hope and love against all odds.”

The limited series is executive produced and written by Erica Lippez (“Julia,” “The Morning Show”), who also serves as showrunner. Thomas Kail (“Fosse/Verdon”) directs and executive produces with Jennifer Todd who will also executive produce for Old 320 Sycamore. Adam Milch will executive produce and Hunter will co-executive produce. The Hulu series is a 20th television production, a part of Disney Television Studios.

Lerman will star in the upcoming second season of Amazon’s Hunters alongside Al Pacino. She can currently be seen in the hit film “Bullet Train” alongside Brad Pitt and Joy King. Lerman is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Attorney Bob Wallerstein.

King previously starred in the films “The In Between” and “The Kissing Booth”, as well as “The Act”. Projects coming King’s way include an adaptation of Scott Westerfield’s dystopian YA series “Uglies” for Netflix and “A Spark of Light” based on Jodi Picoult’s book for Sony Pictures TV.

“We Were the Lucky Ones” joins Hulu Originals’ long line of book-to-television adaptations, which include “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Dopesic,” and “Nine Perfect Strangers.”

Manage-ment, WME and Johnson are represented by Shapiro Sleevet and Cole Erica Lippez. Thomas Kail is represented by WME. Georgia Hunter is reprized by Brettney Bloom and CAA in The Book Group.

Jennifer Todd has been replaced by Michael Zendler. Joy King is represented by UTA, Industry Entertainment, Shelter PR and Hirsch Wallerstein.
