HBO Documentary Films announced Wednesday that it will be producing a follow-up episode to director Amy Berg’s 2019 four-part documentary “The Case Against Adnan Syed.”
The episode, which is currently in production, will feature exclusive access to and after Syed’s release from prison. The episode, directed by Berg, will begin in 2023.

Berg has been filming follow-up episodes in Maryland since early 2021.
