Netflix has released an official teaser trailer for the mother. Starring Jennifer Lopez, the film follows a skilled hit man who emerges from hiding to protect her daughter she gave up years earlier. The first look teaser was unveiled at Netflix’s fan event TUDUM and has been available to watch online ever since. You can watch the new teaser below.
Along with Lopez, Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick, Paul Raci and Gael Garcia Bernal star in the film. The direction is in the hands of Niki Caro (Mulan) and is written by Andrea Berloff, Peter Craig and Misha Green, based on a story by Green.
This movie is one of many projects to come from Lopez after signing a first-look deal with Netflix in 2021. It follows the release of the documentary Peace who focused on her career and life in the spotlight. She will also star in the upcoming sci-fi movie Atlas next to Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Sterling K. Brown (This is us).

Lopez is also featured in the upcoming rom-com Shotgun Wedding for Prime Video. The film, which also stars Josh Duhamel, follows a couple who bring their entire families together for a hostage wedding. Jennifer Coolidge, Sonia Braga, Lenny Kravitz and Cheech Marin are also featured.
the mother will be released for streaming on Netflix in May 2023.
