It is well known that the Jura- franchise consists of six movies, but there are other media that are guns, such as: Battle at Big Rock and Camp Chalk. These titles have a specific place in the franchise to expand the plot through various means and devices, and both are important to their specific mission in the overall franchise scheme. That said, it’s time to figure out how to watch the franchise chronologically so it makes the most sense.
Jurassic Park
“Welcome to Jurassic Park.” The Rules First Pronounced by Richard Attenborough in 1993 Jurassic Park officially let the public know where they stand on this trip. A masterpiece written by Michael Crichton and brought to life through the eyes of the legendary director Steven Spielberg and the ears of the incredible John Williams, the film completely envisioned a real possibility of bringing dinosaurs into the 20th century through cloning. Little did they know that their work would spawn one of Hollywood’s most exciting franchises.
Featuring Sam Neill, Richard Attenborough, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson and more, Jurassic Park is an action-adventure of epic proportions against the most powerful creatures to ever walk the earth. The film takes a closer look at the dynamics of man versus beast when a tropical storm off the coast of Isla Nublar takes power from the grid. This, coupled with the problems Dennis Nedry’s distraction causes, costs lives and injures others. The movie is a strong reminder that humans can’t always control everything, especially dinosaurs who don’t know what century they are in, which they probably all were by the way.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Before Vince Vaughn was a fast-talking car salesman of incredible hilarity and charm, he co-starred with Jeff Goldblum and Julianne Moore in the sequel to Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The movie finds Dr. Ian Malcolm with a relatively new set of characters alongside him, despite brief cameos from Lex, Tim and John Hammond. The film is set on a new island of dinosaurs amid a power struggle between Hammond and his cousin for control of Ingen. The new team must survive without fences and in the open air after several series of unfortunate events that would make Lemony Snicket smile.
Jurassic Park III
Possibly the weakest film of the original trilogy, Jurassic Park III cap it off with a rescue attempt gone horribly wrong. Neill reprises his role as Dr. Alan Grant, who is brought back into action along with William H. Macy, in director Joe Johnston’s shot at the Jura- franchisee. The film depicts Macy and Tea Leoni as Paul and Amanda Kirby respectively, who under false pretenses are Dr. Grant and his protégé Billy hire them to rescue their son on Isla Sorna, an island where Dr. Grant had never been, despite the misinformation the Kirbys had. had on him. The couple employ a group of mercenaries to avoid trouble, but they don’t last long as the horrors of the island are soon revealed, along with a new dinosaur: Spinosarous!
Jurassic World
Jurassic World is the film that finally brings John Hammond’s dream to full life as a Disneyland-esque resort and attraction center. It’s also the last movie in clear watch order if the audience wants to see it all Jura- projects in order. The film centers on Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) as they struggle to find Claire’s cousins after Jurassic World’s newest addition breaks the containment. The public also sees the resort’s degradation in how a disaster of this proportion can actually happen, with complete systemic failure across the board, one after the other like a series of dominoes – but hey, that scene with Owen going through the forest with a pack of raptors is quite legit.
Jurassic World: Camp Chalk Season 1
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is an animated show on Netflix that ties directly into the Jura- franchisee. It follows a group of teenagers who are faced with life-or-death scenarios over the course of five seasons as they try to escape various islands. In Season 1, the group consisting of Darius, Yasmina, Ben, Sammy, Kenji and Brooklyn is left behind during the evacuation of Jurassic World due to the outbreak of the Indominus Rex. In fact, thanks to the events of the movie, the dinosaur is chased after that main core of characters throughout the season until they realize it hasn’t been seen in a while. Jurassic World. The first season is best viewed with the idea that the events in the film happened throughout the season: beginning, middle, and end.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
The second film of the new series, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom includes a rescue mission that has become double and revolves around Claire, Owen and newcomers Zia and Franklin. The double cross was set up by the Eli Mills, assistant to John Hammond’s business partner Benjamin Lockwood. Quite a few species of dinosaurs are brought back from the island before it explodes and are returned to the Lockwood estate to be auctioned off. It is here that the dinosaurs are finally released by Maise Lockwood, Benjamin Lockwood’s granddaughter.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Seasons 2-5
When the kids come in Camp Chalk Going through different scenarios – life, death, love, trust and betrayal – they often also have the needs of the dinosaurs close to their hearts. Darius in particular proves to be brave enough on several occasions to not only save his friends, but also save the dinosaurs when it wasn’t always necessary. Season 2 kicks off just before the opening of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a scene witnessed by the audience from the perspective of Darius and Yasmina. In the film, we are never shown the length of time between the opening of the film and the rest of the film, but according to Camp Chalk, the time difference is more than six months. The final season ends when the kids have finally escaped the island, and Brooklyn has just called the group to tell them she’s heard about the sale on the Lockwood estate, but Darius looks out the window and sees a dinosaur in the street.
Battle at Big Rock
The short film Battle at Big Rock, also directed by Colin Trevorrow, was released to show the aftermath of dinosaurs being released into human society. The eight-minute movie — which you can watch at Jura-‘s YouTube channel – shows how a family camping trip turns into a struggle for survival when a carnivorous Allosaurus enters the campsite where the family is staying. It is fought not only by the family itself, but also by a family of peaceful Nasutoceratops. The film is short, but it is important because it depicts the first conflict that the public sees of dinosaurs affecting the human world.
Jurassic World: Dominion
The last film in the franchise (at least for now), Jurassic World: Dominion brings together most of the main characters from the previous films: Alan Grant, Ellie Sadler, Ian Malcolm, Claire Dearing and Owen Grady. Unfortunately, the film doesn’t focus much on the interactions between dinosaurs and humans in the real world outside of a few scenes, albeit action-packed ones, scattered throughout the film. Instead, the film focused on a mystery surrounding Biosyn, Dr. Lewis Dodgson, who has also been around since the first film, although only seen in Jurassic Park, Camp Chalk (season 5), and of course Jurassic World: Dominion. Despite the apparent lack of conflict between dinosaurs and humans in the human world, outside the Dolimites in Italy, lordship is doing close the franchiseand even showed that Dr. Henry Wu got redemption for his villainous deeds in the previous two films.
