‘Bridgeton’ Queen Charlotte prequel first look reveals prickly meet-cute between Charlotte and King (VIDEO)

How did Queen Charlotte of “Bridgeton” meet her king? It’s time to know thanks to a clip of their meat-cute shared by Netflix as part of the streamer’s Tudum Fan Festival on Saturday. ,Watch clip above.,

Young Queen Charlotte, played by India Amartifio, is determined to run away from some sort of incident (and what seems like an arranged marriage) by climbing a flower and some prickly vine. Corey Mylchrist, who plays Young King George, stumbles upon him, and not knowing who he is, she asks for his help climbing the wall.

But, when she tries angle after angle, he turns down her requests and reveals her true identity, leaving her stunned.

The clip is fans’ first real look at the show, in which Amartifio brings to life the beloved character created by actress Golda Rochevel in “Bridgeton.”

“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” follows Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power. Rochewell (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury) and Ruth Gemmel (Lady Violet Bridgerton) reprise their roles from the main series.

In the cast are Michelle Fairley, along with Amarteifio, who plays Princess Augusta; Mylchrest, who plays Young King George, Arsema Thomas, who plays Young Agatha Danbury (Lady Danbury). The series stars Sam Clemet as Young Brimsley, Freddie Dennis as Reynolds, Richard Cunningham as Lord Butte, Tunji Kasim as Adolphus, Rob Maloney as Royal Doctor, Cyril Nri as Lord Danbury and Old Brimsley. Also included as “Bridgeton” actor Hugh Sachs. ,

Shonda Rhimes is the producer, executive producer and showrunner. Additional EPs feature Betsy Beers and Tom Verica, who also direct.
