“Basketball Wives” star Brooke Bailey announces the death of her daughter, Kayla Bailey.
On Sunday, the actress shared the sad news via Instagram, posting a picture of Kayla and wrote, “Forever my baby, Pretty Black aka Kayla Nicole Bailey. it is not goodbye. See you soon mom.”
Kayla Bailey was 25 years old. Brooke Bailey did not share a cause of death.
In a follow up Instagram post, Brooke Bailey thanked those who had arrived in a show of support.
“Thank You!” Brooke wrote in an Insta Story post. “Kayla left a mark on so many lives. He entered the room and demanded respect, love and attention.
In another post, Brooke thanked God for spending time with her daughter.
“Even though I wasn’t ready, I’m grateful for 25 years that he blessed me to have his own child,” she shared. “Love him, hold him, teach him, comfort him. That was my joy on earth.”
Brooke went on to write that, “If you had the pleasure of meeting him and being friends with him then he has changed your life forever.”
A spokesperson for VH1, the network that airs “Basketball Wives,” shared a statement with TheWrap on behalf of the network.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Brooke Bailey’s daughter Kayla. Our hearts go out to Brooke as well as her family and friends during this difficult time,” the statement read.
