As the midterm nears, more and more Republicans are floating the idea of impeaching President Joe Biden if his party once again takes control of the House. During his “A Closer Look” segment, Meyers touched on the fact that an appeals court recently ruled that the handling of classified documents stolen from the White House by former President Donald Trump, twice impeached in a federal criminal investigation It may go ahead in the coming weeks. ,

Speaking more seriously, Meyers shrugged off the idea that impeachment is something Republicans are considering, arguing that the party “degraded” the legitimacy of disciplinary actions in the US.
“How badly the Republican Party has let down the institutions of our government,” Meyers said. “They see power purely as a means of rewarding themselves and punishing their enemies, even in the midst of a major global crisis that should inspire bipartisan cooperation.
