The wife of the late actor Krishna and mother of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, Indira Devi, died Wednesday morning in Hyderabad. According to reports, she was hospitalized a few days ago due to an illness and passed away on September 28 at 4 am. A statement from the Ghattamaneni family published in News18 earlier today confirmed the details, adding: a “Smt. Ghattamaneni Indira Devi, wife of veteran actor Krishna and mother of Mahesh Babu passed away recently. She had been ill for quite some time. Her remains will be kept at Padmalaya Studios at 9:00 am today for fans to visit and later the final rituals will be performed at Maha Prasthanam.”
While many fans expressed their condolences to the superstar’s mother on social media, some of the big names from the Telugu industry have visited Padmalaya Studios to pay their last respects to the late Ms Indira Devi Ghattamaneni. Among them were Vijay Deverakonda, Venkatesh Daggubati who also expressed their condolences to Mahesh Babu and his family.
Mahesh Babu, his wife Namrata Shirodkar and their children, Gautam Ghattamaneni and Nitara Ghattamaneni were seen at the Padmalaya Studios. A video of a visibly upset Nitara surfaced online when the superstar’s youngest daughter couldn’t stop sobbing after the loss of her grandmother.
