Lynette Romero, whose abrupt exit from KTLA led to confusion, fan-driven boycotts, and the firing of a co-anchor who supported her, confirmed Tuesday that she was hired at Los Angeles rival KNBC As reported earlier by TheWrap.

Romero will anchor NBC4’s weekday news stories from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. along with co-anchor Adrian Arambulo, meteorologist Belen De Leon and traffic anchor Robin Winston. His first day on-air will be October 10. knbc announced on Tuesday.

In a video shared on Twitter, Romero said, “I have a new family, I have a new house. I’m going to ‘Today in LA’ on NBC4 and I’m so excited. So come with me, I’ll open the door.” I am and welcome you. I can’t wait to get started.”
Prior to his tenure at KTLA, Romero anchored and reported at KUSA in Denver, Colorado, where he covered news programs including the standoff in Waco and the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
Romero’s departure, in which he did not announce an on-air departure, prompted speculation that the network had let him go unintentionally after 24 years, a conclusion that echoed the on-air reaction of his former co-anchor, Mark Meester.
