A big pre-release event from Godfather was held earlier today in Anantapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh. In addition to seeing their favorite star, fans were also eagerly awaiting the movie’s theatrical trailer. Their wait has now come to an end as the creators unveiled the Telugu trailer during the feature. Godfather has been in the news for many reasons and one of them is that it brings Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan together for the first time. For the uninitiated, the film is a remake of the Mollywood blockbuster Match starring Mohanlal.

In the trailer, fans who saw the Mohanlal starrer Match, gain insight into the characters described in the Tollywood version. The film revolves around a similar storyline to the Malayalam version in which the demise of the beloved head of state PKR leads to a power struggle between legitimate heirs, selfish businessmen and con men. The trailer shows how PKR’s death leads to questions about succession. While his daughter (Nayanthara) is not interested, his son-in-law (Satya Dev) and a few others in the party are involved in a power grab. Brahma (Chiranjeevi), the fallen hero’s trusted man, becomes involved in the dark affairs and eager to keep greedy sharks at bay.
The trailer also showcases the amazing camaraderie with Salman Khan. The latter plays the role of Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also directed the original film. In the film, Salman Khan will be seen as Brahma’s beloved accomplice or rather as right-hand man.
The Telugu version is directed by Mohan Raja and the cinematography is provided by Nirav Shah. S Thaman composed the music and background music. With the production design of Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films, Godfather will be published on October 5 on the occasion of Dussehra.
