Lincoln Project trailer reveals Showtime documentary

An internal chronicle of the Lincoln Project’s formation, actions, and fractures arrives at Showtime next month in the form of a five-part documentary, the trailer for which has now been released.

Directed by Fisher Stevens (“Dirty Money”) and Karim Amer (“The Great Hack”), “The Lincoln Project” follows a veteran group of former GOP activists and strategists, publicly known as The Lincoln Project. It is known to be the fastest growing Super PAC in the world. America, as they work to “save democracy” and defeat the current president of their own party.

But while documentaries take a closer look at the cutting-edge strategies and operations of the Lincoln Project leading up to the 2020 election, cameras are also present when the group is shaken by internal turmoil and scandal following co-founder John Weaver. 21 people accused of sexual harassment, Steven Schmidt (who has since left the organization) is front and center for the documentary along with several other key members, offering a fly-on-the-wall look at the history of The Lincoln Project over the years.

The series premieres October 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and episodes will air each Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT one after another. All five episodes will be released on demand for Showtime subscribers and on the streaming platform on October 7.

The series is produced for Showtime by The Others in association with Bloomfish Productions and Impact Partners. Producers are Alexander Hyde, Mikaela Beardsley, Allison Berg, Judy Korin and Amy Redford. Executive producers are Karim Amer, Fisher Stevens, Geralyn White Dreyfus, Nina and David Fialko, Lynn Davis Lear, Vijay Vaidyanathan and Jamie Wolf. Fremantle will distribute the series internationally.
