Ponniyin Selvan is slated for a September 30 release and fans are eagerly awaiting this magnum opus starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Traish and more in Mani Ratnam’s prominent roe deer. While the first review of the movie comes out and the movie is called mediocre. One of the popular critics based in the UAE, Umar Sandhu, shared his first review on Ponniyin Selvan. He went to his Twitter (a verified account) and gave only 3 stars. ” First review #PS1 ! Amazing cinematic saga with great production designs and VFX! #ChiyaanVikram & #Karthic Stole the show completely. #AishwaryaRaiBachchan is back and looking great! All in all, quite a historic saga with some twists and moments worth watching.”
However, it seems that Mani Ratnam’s wife, Suhasini, who also stars in the film, was not very happy with the review and doubted the critic’s authenticity. She soon replied to his tweet asking who he is. And how did he get access to the movie, since it hasn’t been released yet? Suhasini Ratnam asked “Who is this please. What is your access to a movie yet to be released”. Well, it seems that Suhasini Ratnam is not very aware of the fact that few movies are played in the UAE a day before they hit the cinemas in the theaters. It’s also common for the movies’ critics to get access to the movies a day or two before release.
Speaking of Ponniyin Selvan I, this movie is calling Aishwarya back in the theaters almost after 4 years sabbatical and her appearance in the movie as Nandini is just mesmerizing. While Aishwarya, who is closely associated with Mani Ratnam, couldn’t be more grateful to offer her this film. Mani Ratnam and others claim that this is a groundbreaking role for Aishwarya and fans will be surprised to see her. Well, I certainly can’t wait for tomorrow!
