Chris Hemsworth’s Wild State Lands First-Look Deal With National Geographic

Chris Hemsworth and producer Ben Grayson’s newly formed Wild State have struck a first-look deal with National Geographic.

As part of the deal, Wild State will develop scripted and unscripted content for film, television and digital platforms. Unscripted projects will be in the areas of adventure, exploration, travel and science for National Geographic’s television platforms and Disney+ Originals produced by National Geographic.

“As lifelong fans of National Geographic, we are thrilled to be able to continue and deepen our partnership with them across the Disney+ platform,” Hemsworth and Grayson said in a joint statement. “Wild State is dedicated to generating immersive narratives that both entertain and shine light on important issues around the world. We at Nat Geo are grateful for the opportunity to tell highly influential, important stories in the unscripted space, backed by the backing of a leading global conservation and environmental brand.”

The deal comes ahead of the premiere of National Geographic’s Disney+ Original series, “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth,” later this year. “Limitless” was created by Darren Aronofsky and his production company Protozoa, from Jane Root’s Nutopia and the Wild State. A premiere date is yet to be announced.

Here’s the show’s description: “It dives deeply into the science of longevity, exploring the full potential of the human body. This science is tested by Hemsworth, who, despite being in extreme superhero status, is on a personal mission to learn how to advance our health, strength, and intelligence into our later years. Going through a series of epic trials and extraordinary challenges to understand the limits of the human body, he learns firsthand how to regenerate damage, maximize strength, build resilience, supercharge memory and withstand mortality. Discovering ways how we can live better in the long run. ,

Tom McDonald, executive vice president of Global Factual and Unscripted Programming for National Geographic Content, said in a statement, “Chris and Ben have been exceptional partners to work with, dedicated to creating and creating the most entertaining unscripted programming around the world.” “We are thrilled to enter this long-standing partnership with Wild State and can’t wait to create the next generation of blockbuster factual content with them.”

Hemsworth has been ousted by the CAA and Greenberg Glusker. Grayson is replicated by CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein Hume Matloff + Fishman LLP. CAA and Greenberg Glusker brokered the deal.
