Peacock has ordered the long-awaited “Community” film, with most of the original cast of the beloved NBC comedy series returning for a feature film continuation that began as a joke on the show and for fans after the series. became the cry of the rally. Finished.
Returning members for the film “Community” are Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. McHale will also serve as the film’s executive producer. Not returning — at least not for now — is Donald Glover, who dropped out of “Community” in Season 5 to pursue other projects. Glover attended a reunion for the series in 2020, so it looks like at least one cameo isn’t out of the question.
Brie told TheWrap in August that “legitimate talks” were taking place regarding continuing the feature film, and Harmon told TheWrap in a separate interview later that month that the film was “a matter of when and not.”

After first launching on NBC in 2009, “Community” became a fan-favourite, completely coming into its own in its boundary-pushing second season. The show struggled in ratings and was canceled by the network after season 5, with the sixth and final season being the now-defunct Yahoo! screen.
