It’s always good to renew the classics and bring them to the new generations. That’s what happened to Chuckythe Syfy and USA Network television series that premiered on October 12, 2021 and sheds new light on the doll possessed by a serial killer.
Based on the Child’s play franchise, Chucky Taking place after the events of the 2017 film Cult of Chucky, it has been widely acclaimed for its absurd horror mixed with plenty of dark humor, and has been dubbed a “damn good time” by viewers. Its LGBTQ+ inclusivity was also praised and even won GLAAD nominations for the show. So it wasn’t shocking when the series was renewed for a second season in November 2021, after having captivated audiences in season one.
Created by Don Mancini, who wrote all the franchise films and directed the last threeChucky follows the story of 14-year-old Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), an aspiring artist obsessed with dolls. After buying a Good Guy doll at a sale, he discovers that serial killer Charles Lee Ray owns the doll, voiced again by Brad Dourif.
As a serial killer, Chucky begins a series of murders around Jake’s town of Hackensack, New Jersey. Jake’s father is the first to be killed, followed by other murders, including a maid and Jake’s aunt. No one believes that a doll commits murder and Jake becomes the suspect in these crimes. To defeat Chucky, Jake must reunite with his bully-turned-friend Lexy Cross (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and his crushed friend Devon Evans (Björgvin Arnarson) and deal with a serial killer as he tries to make it through high school dramas.
Chucky is a continuation of the iconic film franchise that chronicles the murderous escapades of the infamous killer doll. In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with arch-enemies, old allies, and new prey as he tries to bring fear and mayhem wherever he goes. Chucky Season 2: The Plot
Chucky’s the season one finale left a lot of storylines and loose ends that can be explored in the second season. While all the Chucky dolls appear to have been taken down by Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) and Kyle (Christine Elise), at the end of the episode, it is revealed that Chucky has prepared an army of Good Guy dolls. He owns them to who knows what to do, the main hook of the final.
Kyle, a fan favorite and Andy’s foster sister from, is also expected to be revealed Child’s play 2 – is dead or not. There’s also tension about what will happen to Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) after Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) has her arms and legs amputated in case Chucky regains control of her body.
It’s also impossible not to be eager to know what the future holds for the main trio: Jake, Lexy and Devon. They end the first season without some of their family and friends, so their plot – and friendships – could be a focus in the new season.

After his diabolical plan to invade American children’s hospitals was thwarted in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarsonq), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), together. with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy. Best of all, while the synopsis leaves fans with more questions than answers, it won’t be long before they begin to unravel the mysteries that Chucky season 2 has in store for them.
Chucky Season 2: The Cast
Aside from all the characters who died in the first season – and the actors who can’t return because their characters are dead – we can expect everyone who survived the season one finale to return to Chucky season 2. The main character and Chucky’s owner, Jake, is expected to return, along with Björgvin Arnarson and Alyvia Alyn Lind.
Other actors we can expect to see again include Alex Vincent, Fiona Dourif and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. Jennifer Tilly is also expected to return as Tiffany. But one actress whose status we don’t know is Christine Elise. Kyle’s alleged off-screen death leaves an open door for her return.
Chucky Season 2 also features mother-daughter acting duo Alyvia Alyn Lind and Barbara Alyn Woods, who is set to return as Mayor Michelle Cross, along with Lara Jean Chorostecki — who will have a recurring role — and several new cast members familiar with the horror genre, including Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano from Be bound toTony Nappo from saw II, Lara Jean Chorostecki from Hannibal and Sutton Stracke from reality show Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Premiere date
Immediately afterwards Chucky Season 1 was drawing to a close, fans eager for Season 2. With a long shoot in tow, Season 2 was expected at the earliest this year. Don Mancini, series creator, executive producer and showrunner, confirmed this information:

Considering that Halloween is near, and Chucky is full of blood and horror, there is no better date to premiere the show than October. although Chucky Season 2 will arrive in October, indeed it will be sooner than fans anticipated as the series premieres October 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT in the US and SYFY.
