Trevor Noah mocks Donald Trump for his Diet Coke valet

Another day, another episode of “The Daily Show” where Trevor Noah takes a shot at former President Donald Trump. On Thursday night’s episode, the late night host got a lot of laughs reports That Trump asked the valet who brought him Diet Coke how he could stay in office after the 2020 election.

Reporting comes from New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman’s upcoming book, “The Confidence Man.” According to Haberman, Trump told nearly every aide he came into contact with (including the soda valet) that he would refuse to step down, even consulting him on strategies to reverse the election. .

“Hey man, your soda guy is under so much pressure. Like, he asked the valet who brings him Diet Coke?” Noah said. “He was just like, ‘Soda boy, I need you to make me emperor of America. How do I do that?'”

However, Noah argued that it is “less awkward” to seek advice from a soda valet, even an employee with that job description.

“But, I mean, once you’ve got that you can also get his/her input, right? Be like, ‘Yeah, what do you think about how to beat a country?'” he continued.

Haberman’s book also shows that Trump insisted, if all else failed, that he would “never leave” the White House. Noah ended the clause wishing that Trump had followed through on that plan.

“The real tragedy for me is that Trump didn’t follow through on his plan of not quitting,” he said. “It would have been exciting. I would have loved that the FBI chasing Trump around the White House would have looked like an episode of ‘Scooby-Doo.'”
