“Everything I ever wanted in Star wars would in a Star wars outfit and bumped my head against a door or something as I walked through it,” Bale said. “The real nerds watching Star Wars far too often always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper bangs his head against the door when he enters. I wanted to be That boy. That was it.”
He added: “But look, if I’m lucky enough to be more than that, oh man, yes. What a joy that would be. I still have the numbers from when I was little. I know Kathy Kennedy very well too well.well because she was working with Spielberg when I did realm of the sunand now she runs the Star Wars universe.”
With Bale teasing that Star Wars debut could be on the horizon, many fans have offered choices of characters that the Thor: Love and Thunder star could play. Originally, Thrawn appeared in a series of novels in the 1990s, serving as an enemy to major characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo, but Thrawn continued to gain popularity when he appeared in the animated series. Fans expected to see him in live-action form after the character was mentioned by Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) in The Mandalorianbut as of now it is unclear when the character will appear and who could play him but there have been several rumors over the years.
The animated version of the character is voiced by Lars Mikkelsen. That has led to some rumors that the actor will also play the live-action Thrawn. In the meantime, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch is another actor whose name has been linked to the role in the rumor mill. Speculation about his potential casting even made its way to Cumberbatch himself, who told Collider in 2021 that he wasn’t too familiar with the character, nor did he want to hide from a role at the time.

No no, seriously, I have precious time with my kids and I think I’m sitting in a makeup chair and getting painted blue, and the amount of time it would take to do that and then take it at the end of the day maybe just…it’s not the right time in my life for that.”
