Trevor Noah feels that the allegations made by Herschel Walker for his girlfriend’s abortion, despite being the Republican Senate nominee, are just “the tip of the iceberg” and signal a major change in the political party.
“There are several allegations of domestic abuse against him including his ex-wife. His own son, who is a prominent conservative, has said that most of the stories are true. And Herschel Walker himself said that sometimes he just couldn’t control his mind,” Noah said during Tuesday’s episode of “The Daily Show.”
Despite all those issues, Noah explained that the Republican Party is ready to go “full speed ahead” with the Senate race in Georgia, a further indication that the party’s top leaders care more about winning than about values. Huh.
“Donald Trump has completely changed what it means to be conservative, because less than a decade ago, this hypocritical, flawed candidate would not have had the support of the party,” he said. “But because winning is now more important than any principle or any value that these politicians had, they are willing to move at full speed, even if it means going full speed into a brick wall.”
Noah spent about three minutes explaining all of Walker’s scandals, before his most recent landing. The Daily Beast It was reported earlier Tuesday that Walker’s ex-girlfriend claims he paid for her abortion in 2009. She apparently provided a receipt for the procedure, as well as a check purportedly signed by Walker and a “get well soon” card from the former NFL player. ,
“The only way that could be more than a paper trail is if he buys a souvenir T-shirt from an abortion clinic gift shop,” Noah said.
