Abbott Elementary Special Halloween Costumes Revealed

Abbott Elementary, the ABC sitcom created by Quinta Brunson at the school of the same name in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has revealed footage from the upcoming Halloween special, featuring the characters in their costumes — and the unstoppable juggernaut of corporate synergy has spawned not one, but two costumes inspired by Marvel characters! These include schoolteacher Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter) as the Scarlet Witch and director Ava Coleman (Janelle James) as the Omega-level mutant Ororo Monroe, Storm of the X-Men.

The Abbott Elementary photos were tweeted by @ungodlywests via POPSUGAR, along with “THE HALLOWEEN EPISODE IS UPON US #bottelementary.” Check it out for yourself below:

Schemmenti’s Scarlet Witch costume stays close to the classic comic book look for the character, including the oversized red headpiece and scarlet cape. The drink also recalls the Halloween costume worn by Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) in the sixth episode of 2021 WandaVision“Brand New Halloween Spooktacular!”

Meanwhile, Coleman’s Storm costume is unmatched in live-action X-Men adjustments. The costume is modeled after the 1991 ‘silver costume’, which is considered one of the ‘Top 10 Storm Costumes” by the official Marvel website. The silver costume was worn by Storm when she became the leader of the X-Men Gold Team, which was introduced in Uncanny X-Men #281, “Fresh Up Start”, by Jim Lee, Whilce Portacio, John Byrne, Art Thibert, Tom Orzechowski and Joe Rosas. While some big-screen live-action adaptations of the X-Men have eschewed classic Marvel Comics costume designs in favor of updated “sleek” or “leather-based” alternatives, Coleman’s Ororo is so accurate that it might look right off the panel. .

Quinta Brunson dresses up as James Harden

In addition to the accurate costumes from Schemmenti and Coleman’s Marvel Comics, the rest of the Abbott Elementary cast will appear in their costumes, with a combination of classic Halloween fare and additional pop culture allusions. In the latter category, series creator Brunson, who plays teacher Janine Teagues, will appear in the episode as sports star James Harden. Harden, who plays for the Philadelphia Sixers, has even commented on the costume himself, tweet a “LOL” emoji response to the image on the costumed Teagues on Twitter.

The images of the characters in costume were released by POPSUGAR on Monday, October 3, 2022 and quickly gained attention on social media. However, you will have to wait until Wednesday, October 26, 2022 to watch the episode, which will be called “Candy Zombies”. If you’re looking to catch up on the first and second seasons so far, previously released episodes of the series are currently available for streaming on Hulu.
