The hosts of “The View” are a little baffled by all the surprises surrounding Ron DeSantis and President Biden, who worked together on hurricane relief this week. On Thursday’s episode of the show, the women noted that DeSantis really had no other choice. But For working with Biden, Ana Navarro called him DeSantis’ “daddy.”
To kick-start the Hot Topics discussion, moderator Whoopi Goldberg called this week footage of DeSantis and Biden’s statements, in which the governor said he and his team “appreciate the team’s effort” from the White House, along with Of course, they are “cutting through the bureaucracy.” At the time, Whoopi was thoroughly obsessed with the idea that a team-up between the two wouldn’t happen, despite DeSantis’ previous criticisms of the president.
“I mean, what choice does he have?” Goldberg said. “He can’t stand there [Biden] Stands there and says, ‘I hate what they did. They gave us all this money, and we didn’t want it! We didn’t want their money, we could have done it!’ He can’t do that.”
Navarro largely agreed, offering the Florida governor a taunting reminder.
“He has no choice. And as a Floridian, I can tell you that there is a time for politics, and there is a time for solving things,” Navarro said. “It is a time for solutions. And yes “You need to show Daddy Biden, because he’s the one who got FEMA, he’s the one who got the big bucks. He’s the one who got the Army Corps of Engineers and the people of Florida need help.”
Navarro praised Biden for staying in Puerto Rico before arriving in Florida, and acknowledged that he needed help, too. Meanwhile, host Alyssa Farah Griffin lamented that people were so shocked by Biden and DeSantis’ mutual coordination to keep politics separate.
Farah Griffin said, “It was so refreshing to see the president and governor put politics to the side, but it’s also sad how refreshing it was.” “It’s not something that’s normal in the environment we’ve been in over the last four or five years.”
