Mila Kunis Suggested Many Other Actresses For Her Ted Role Before ‘Getting Older Into It’

Mila Kunis had a long association with Seth McFarlane before being cast in the role of Lori in the comedy film ted. However, the actress says she wasn’t the first choice for the role, but spent long enough suggesting other stars for the part that she had “grown into it.” Although the then 27-year-old played 39-year-old Mark Wahlberg’s partner, it seems that a year between the film’s original pitch and its making was enough for her to step into Lori’s shoes.

Ted was Seth McFarlane’s live-action big-screen directorial debut, and in addition to being a classic comedy of the decade, it spawned a sequel and will soon have a prequel TV series. While Ted brought some Family manstars, Kunis wasn’t just another star picked from McFarlane’s regular collaboration list to play Lori, in fact, she spent much of the film’s pre-production suggesting other actresses who could potentially play the part, before finally being offered the part herself. She told the Happy Sad Confused podcast:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“He cast it for a while before Wahlberg signed up, but even once Wahlberg signed up, he was casting other women. And he kept coming up to me during shoots and saying ‘who else?’ Because it took a while for a talking bear movie to be made. And I kept throwing out names like ‘what about that person? She’s a great actress’ And then all of a sudden I started getting older and older and older. And in Hollywood now I can face Mark Wahlberg, magical… But at that point I had already cast with him for a year.”

Mila Kunis will appear in soon That show from the 90s on Netflix

While Mila Kunis is not returning to the small screen in Paramount’s Ted prequel series, she will return to one of her previous roles in Netflix’s That show from the 90sthe revival sequel to That show from the 70s. The sequel will not only feature Kunis, but also his real-life husband Ashton Kutcher, Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Topher Grace, Wilmer Valderrama and Laura Prepon.

Kunis recently dropped a spoiler for the new series as she discussed her return and shared some information about what’s going to happen for her character in the revival. Be warned if you read on… Kunis revealed:

“My husband and I are together in [the new show], which is weird, because we shouldn’t have been. You know what, I called BS I was like, ‘My character would be with Fez.’ I think I ended up with Wilmer [Valderrama]’s character. And I thought, ‘Why are you and I together?’ And he was also married when the ’70s ended, with the character of Shannon Elizabeth, I think. Now we’re 20 – no, 16 years later, whatever it is, and now we’re married and have a kid. And I was like, ‘I don’t know about this one.'”

There is currently no broadcast date for That show from the 90sbut after the series wraps up in July, it probably won’t be long before the series arrives on Netflix.
