Dan Harmon’s ‘Krapopolis’ scores season 2 ahead of series premiere at Fox

Dan Harmon’s “Krapopolis” has already begun its first season before securing a Season 2 order from Fox Entertainment. The latest animated series from “Community” and “Ricky and Morty” Vet will premiere in 2023.

Set in ancient Greece, “Krapopolis” follows a dysfunctional family of humans, gods, and demons as they attempt to rule the world’s first cities to varying degrees of success. The comedy series featured voiceover performances from Emmy Award winners Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”), Richard Ayoade (“The IT Crowd”), Matt Berry (“What We Do in the Shadows”), Pam Murphy (“The Mapleworth Murders”) Huh. and Duncan Trussell (“The Midnight Gospel”). It comes as part of Harmon’s direct animation deal with Fox Entertainment.

“As you can imagine, everything Dan Harmon does is extremely irreverent and full of his signature, bold characters; and these early episodes of ‘Krapopolis’ exceeded even our highest expectations,” said Fox. Entertainment President Michael Thorne said in a statement. “While we continue to grow Fox’s animation brand, it is a true pleasure to see Dan and his team work their magic on ‘Krapopolis.’ to be rewarded with.”

According to a logline for the series: “Ayodé voices ‘Tyrnis,’ the mortal son of a goddess. He is the benevolent king of Krapopolis trying to do something in the city that lives up to his name. Waddingham calls ‘Deliria,’ Played the role of Tyrannis’ mother, the goddess of self-destruction and questionable choices. Within her extended Olympian family – forged in patriotism and infidelity – she is known as the Junk. half centaur) [horse + human]half manticore [lion + human + scorpion]He’s oversexed and under-employed, claims to be an artist and hasn’t paid for anything, in any sense of that word, for literally his whole life. Murphy voices the ‘wonderful,’ half-sister of Tyrannis, daughter of Deliria and a Cyclops. Trussell plays ‘Hippocampus’, Tyrannis’ half-brother, the progeny of Shalab and a mermaid, and is, apparently, a hot mess, biologically speaking.

As you can imagine, legendary shenanigans abound.

“Krapopolis” is produced by Fox Entertainment’s Emmy-winning animation studio, Bento Box Entertainment. The program is wholly owned by Fox Entertainment and will be offered to international show buyers at MIPCOM Cannes later this month.
