Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters in November to wrap up Phase 4 of the MCU before Phase 5 kicks off early next year Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While there have been some ups and downs in the past two years, the return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Wakanda expects it to be as popular as its predecessor, delivering a film worthy of Chadwick Boseman’s legacy. One of the biggest questions about the movie is who will take on the role of Black Panther against the final act, and according to Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira no theory has managed to “get everything right”.
Ever since it became clear that Marvel Studios would not be recasting the role of T’Challa after Chadwick Boseman’s death, fans immediately started speculating about which character would be the next Black Panther. Theories have been doing the rounds on the internet about virtually every possible option of how the emergence of a new hero might happen, but while we Elle, Nyong’o and Gurira teased that people aren’t quite there yet. They said:
Nyong’o: “We like the speculation.”
Gurira: “They don’t quite get it!”
Nyong’o: “No, they didn’t guess at all.”
The new Black Panther will bring Wakanda to the fore in the MCU
Last week a new trailer was released for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and with just over a month until the film debuts in theaters, there’s still plenty of time for fans to continue speculating about the identity of the new Black Panther. While this is heavily predicted to fall to Shuri, with a new LEGO set that even seems to suggest this outcome, it could be possible that the film will see more than one character with the Black Panther title before the film’s end. see film, which appears to be one of the longest of the Phase.
There is of course much more Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Then the future of the franchise, as it will also be a poignant farewell to T’Challa and Chadwick Boseman and will be a big draw for audiences to see the film. Franchise star Letitia Wright has previously spoken of how the film was made as a “love letter” to the late actor. She said:
“Well, first of all I can tell you, you know, the first movie did so well. You know, we’ve made a cultural impact and change. And this movie is… We’re trying to follow that, you know, to inspire everyone who’s going to see it. We have new cast members such as Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel. So it is packed with adventures. I feel it is a great contribution to Chadwick’s legacy for me. I feel like it’s a love letter to him. I know that every day I went on set, I used up my energy — on every scene to dedicate it to him. I wanted to dedicate excellence to this film so that it could be proud.”
