In the new trailer Wednesday fans finally get a glimpse of Uncle Fester, who likes to travel incognito (which may explain his absence of any marketing material). But Wednesday’s uncle is back to help the young Nevermore Academy student solve a mystery of eerie, eerie proportions. Netflix describes the series as a questing, supernatural-infused mystery that charts Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s efforts to master her emerging psychic abilities, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery her parents were embroiled in 25 years ago – all while shedding her newfound and very tangled relationships in Nevermore navigated.

Uncle Fester is a counterweight to Wednesday Addams
In Vanity Fair‘s exclusive first look published simultaneously with the NYCC panel, Fred Armisen discussed his character’s role in the series. Uncle Fester is “someone on the run, but he has a strong bond with the family and with Wednesday,” said the… Portlandia actor. “They have a lot of fun together and they help each other. It’s a real family thing, but they’re also friends.”
