The show features him as the carefree, fun and a little irresponsible intern Raj, who works under the stubborn, ambitious Manmeet, also known as Surbhi Chandna, who is also a mother of a toddler. Dheeraj Dhoopar is not only happy with his fifth collaboration with Colors, but also because he is part of such another show. He opened up about the show in this exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama saying, “This is a very different kind of setup, different kinds of storylines, different kinds of character traits. So you know, whatever feedback I get, whatever reviews I get from the media and from the fans, they’ve been amazing. “
He added: “I’ll say it’s a very new age-esque show. From the storyline to even the execution the whole show is very, very big. I’ve never seen anything like it on Indian television before. When mr. Saurabh Tewari told me the story, I got super excited and said I was going to join the show right away. When you see the show, my character Raj is very different from other male lead characters of Indian television. He is more recognizable and a charming guy. I wouldn’t say he’s not heroic, but he’s more heroic in his own sense. But he’s very different from other male heroes we have in different daily soaps.”
The actor will also return with his Naagin 5 co-star Surbhi Chandna in Sherdil Shergill. When fans got a glimpse of the duo’s chemistry on the small screen, they were left raving about it. Though Dheeraj Cheel played from a different generation, fans got a brief glimpse of them together and couldn’t stop talking about it. Dheeraj attributes all their chemistry to the amazing friendship he shares with the Ishqbaaz actress. “We’ve been good friends since we started doing Naagin 5 together. And people really appreciated our chemistry on the show and we got great reviews on it too. I think it’s that friendship that shows on the screen. When you’re so comfortable with the person off-screen in real life, I think that’s reflected on the screen.”
He went on to say: “We’re not that different in real life. She understands me as a person, vice versa. We’re not like poles apart at all, like what’s on the show. We have similar interests, preferences and even similar perspectives on most things. We do have differences, but it’s not as much as shown on the show.”
Interestingly, Sherdil Shergill has Surbhi Chandna as a mother. However, the stubborn mother is a single mother who raises her son alone. On the other hand, in real life, Dheeraj fathered a baby boy not too long ago. We wonder if we can see a father-son bonding on screen and let’s tell you that Dheeraj isn’t really against the idea. Speaking about the on-screen fatherhood in Sherdil Shergill, Dheeraj added: “Not now I guess. Right now things don’t look like that between Manmeet and Raj. I wouldn’t know how the story would progress, though. But I don’t say no because why not I mean I’m a real dad so why not on screen I don’t mind I’ve played a dad in Sasural Simar Ka 2 in the past and for two to three months I also played a father in Kundali Bhagya.”
Dheeraj Dhoopar was also featured in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 but had to stop the show due to his injury. The actor also expressed disappointment, saying: “I was injured on the sets and the injury got really big. I was in too much pain and didn’t have time to recover.” He also added in the same breath that he is not against the idea of returning to the celebrity reality show. “I’m pretty much recovered now. If they approach me and everything is okay, why not,” he concluded. he.
