Filmmaker Karan Johar only recently closed the final season of his chat show Koffee With Karan on the OTT streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar. Interestingly, the director-producer revealed during the signing off that he will be returning with another season next year. At the same time, Karan has been busy on the film front with Dharma Productions putting out one big ticket venture after another, the latest being the Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra. But away from the movie world, Karan Johar shocked all fans by announcing his departure from the social media site Twitter.
Karan Johar deletes his Twitter account; says, “Making room for more positive energies”
Karan Johar took to the microblogging site earlier today and posted a tweet that read: “Just making room for more positive energies and this is step one in that direction. Goodbye Twitter!” After sharing this, the filmmaker removed his profile from the site, although the site currently still lists the handle, it shows a message with the claim “This account does not exist.”
While it remains unclear what the remaining steps are, Karan Johar, who has been labeled the “flag bearer of nepotism,” has been the victim of immense trolls over the years. In fact, towards the end of Koffee With Karan, the filmmaker talked about mental health and how therapy had helped him. While we will certainly miss Karan’s updates on Twitter, we wish the filmmaker the best of luck on his journey to gather positive energy.
Back on the work front, Karan Johar returns as a director with his next film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahanistarring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
