Ayushmann Kurrana is currently gearing up for his next release Doctor G. Like his previous critically acclaimed outings, Anubhuti Kashyap’s directing features a unique story that is off the beaten track. In exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann revealed how he managed to land such unique and quirky roles.

“I think it started with Vicky Donor. At that time, films with such storylines were not written. But I think the success of my first film and then Dum Laga Ke Haisha, these two, I think, gave the screenwriters the impulse to think out of the box and come out with subjects that were quirky and little taboo and different. So I started getting those scripts.”
He continued: “There was a time in between when I didn’t get the right scripts and I thought ‘I’m not getting any movies’ because Vicky Donor was such a benchmark. Then suddenly there were series of these kinds of scripts and I got very interesting topics, and Doctor G is one of them.”
The 38-year-old actor is getting ready for his next release Doctor G, a medical drama, in which he will play the role of gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.
