Just a day ago, we announced the winners list of the 67th Filmfare Awards, where the Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru wiped out maximum awards in the Tamil category. The actor also received the Best Actor award and during his speech, he mentioned his iconic special appearance in this year’s release Vikram. The Kamal Haasan action party with lead actors became a blockbuster not only in the South box office but in all quarters and the film also received huge appreciation from industry insiders. The film, in which Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil can also be seen, had Suriya in the role of the ‘drug lord’ Rolex. Speaking about it at the recent Filmfare Awards, he said he had initially considered turning it down.
Suriya Reveals He Didn’t Want To Play Rolex In Kamal Haasan Star Vikram At 67th Filmfare Awards South
A video where Suriya talks about Rolex in the movie Vikram and how he initially decided not to do the film made its way onto social media. However, the Southern superstar confessed that he was only doing it for one man and that it is Kamal Haasan. Speaking at the recently held 67th Filmfare Awards South, Suriya said, “Whatever I am today, whatever I do in life, Kamal sir would always have been my inspiration. When he called and said there was an opportunity, I didn’t want to let it go. I want to share this with everyone. When you’re scared, you want to jump. It was a last minute decision. I wanted to call Lokesh and say I wouldn’t. But I did it for one man. I didn’t expect to get so much love and appreciation for the character.” His brief appearance in the film also made fans of the superstar wonder if there is a movie about Rolex in the pipeline as well.

Speaking of VikramThe film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is expected to be part of the LCU, also known as Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The LCU started with the Karthi starrer Kaithi and if we are to believe the reports, the next movie in the LCU world will feature Thalapathy Vijay.
