Co-Executive Producer Werewolf By Night Shares Opportunity for More Marvel Specials

Werewolf at night has had tremendous success on Disney+ since its October 7 release. The project, spearheaded by Michael Giacchino, is currently considered one of the best in Marvel’s Phase 4. However, it is not a television show or feature film. Instead of, Werewolf at night is described as a “special presentation” lasting 50 minutes, the first of its kind in the MCU.


Marvel Studios has seen animated shorts, multi-season shows, and theater films, but a special is something new to the MCU. Brian Gay, who was co-executive producer on Werewolf By Night and Director of Production & Development at Marvel Studios, recently sat down with Collider and discussed the possibility of more special presentations in the future. “We didn’t have a schedule or master plan or anything like that. But I think what’s really exciting about the special is that it’s unique, right? Disney+ is letting us do something that doesn’t have to be a three-hour movie,” he explains. . “It doesn’t have to be a 10-episode series. It lets us dip our toe in it, introduce something, bring out a new character and give you what I’ve called an appetizer of hopefully what else comes with seeing these characters, or at least those who lived continue in the MCU.”

Werewolf at night introduced a few new characters to the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Jack Russell/Werewolf by Night (Gael García Bernal), Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly), and Man-Thing (Carey Jones & Jeffrey Ford). Gay wants some characters to be expanded, be it in another special, series, or movie.


The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Arrives in December

Marvel covers Halloween with Werewolf at nightand now the public will receive a holiday special featuring The Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special. The project has been a long time in the making, with a release date finally getting closer as it debuts on Disney+ sometime in December this year. Details about the project are scarce, although we do know that it takes place between the events of Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

As the GOTG Holiday Special If it proves to be a success again, Marvel will no doubt be looking for more opportunities to implement special presentations on Disney+. The cast returns, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff and Karen Gillan. In addition, James Gunn writes and directs the MCU project, just like the previous two Guardians of the Universe movies. With the star power connected, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has the potential to far exceed Werewolf at night in viewership.

Fans should learn more about the special as we get closer to December, and don’t be surprised if Marvel Studios starts introducing the format even more. A avengers Special April joke? Probably not, but fans can certainly hope.
