They say comedy is serious business, and it can’t be true, especially in Bollywood where audiences are made to laugh, causing filmmakers, writers and actors to caricature or cringe more often than anyone would like to admit. Every now and then, however, a Bollywood comedy film comes along that completely surprises you, especially if it comes from the indie stable, with little to no strong support from big names prior to release. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Khosla Ka Ghosla are such movies that immediately come to mind. Avani Modi, Pitobash Tripathy and Vikram Kocchar starrer Modiji Ki Beti now joins them as another little indie gem with lots of laughs and something relevant to say.
