What can we expect from A Simple Favor 2?

A Simple Favor (2018) Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively)
Feigco Entertainment

In the first movie, Stephanie is a single mom with a vlog about parenting and family life who befriends Emily. This is a mysterious upper-class woman who has a son in the same elementary school as the protagonist’s daughter, which is what brings them together in the first place. When Emily goes missing, Stephanie investigates the truth behind her sudden disappearance. However, she will find herself in a web of conflict and lies much larger than she imagined.

At the end of the movie, Stephanie made it big with her mystery-solving blog and started a new career focused on her new talent. Emily, for her part, was sentenced to prison, and the outcome showed us that Lively’s character was willing to take on her new environment, as she did with everything around her.

In the sequel, the protagonists will surely meet again and get involved in a new game of secrets and lies, involving them either directly or with a new story related to other characters, given Stephanie’s new life. Another who could be a key piece in the new puzzle is Sean, played by Henry Golding, although it’s not confirmed at this point if the actor will return to join Lively and Kendrick in the sequel. Unfortunately, there is no reference material for this new story, as Bell’s novel was the only one and had no sequels to draw stories from.
