After Anupamaa’s Anagha Bhosale, actress Nupur Alankar renounces showbiz to become a sanyasi in the Himalayas

Anupamaa fans were shocked when Anagha Bhosale revealed that she has decided to quit acting because she wanted to focus on her spiritual journey. Now actress Nupur Alankar has given up showbiz to become a sanyasi. The lady has worked in the industry for 27 years. It seems that she took Sanyas in the month of February. As of now, she is busy visiting pilgrimage sites and helping the needy. She said she had always been inclined to spirituality and that it was only a matter of time before she became a sanyasi. Shambhu Sharan Jha is her spiritual guru. She met him through CINTAA. She has now moved to the Himalayas. She believes that the mountains will provide the perfect environment for spiritual lessons. Nupur Alankar has rented out her house in Mumbai to cover the costs. The actress who has worked on shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, Bhaage Re Mann and others said she is amused that people feel that she left showbiz because she was in emotional turmoil. Her sister Jigyaasa, who had observed her sister’s keen interest in spirituality, is not at all surprised by the move. Nupur Alankar says that acting now has no place in her life. She told ETimes, “There’s no place for drama in my life anymore. I’m done with all the pretensions and falsehoods we use on screen and off.” Nupur Alankar said she felt free from all expectations and duties after her mother passed away in December 2020. She said she was delaying her spiritual journey because her brother-in-law Kaushal Agarwal was trapped in Afghanistan when the Taliban took over the country. Her husband Alankar Srivastava fully supports her decision. They got married in 2002. She told ETimes: “I didn’t have to ask (smiles!). He knew where I was going when I spoke to him once about wanting to take sanyaas. He set me free and his family accepted. also my decision. I wish Alankar the best in life. The (marriage) was great until it lasted. We are not together, although we have not taken the legal road to divorce.” Nupur Alankar has done 157 TV shows in her career.
