Iam Tongi was crowned the winner american idol Season 21 with Megan Danielle in second place and Colin Stough in third place.
After Tongi’s win, there was debate among some fans that the show was “rigged” for his win. Now Danielle is speaking out about the controversy and dismissing the baseless claims.
“I would say it’s not just because I feel like God made it all happen for a reason,” he said american idol The runner-up said that New York Post in an interview. “Even if I was first, second, last or whatever … I feel like each of us really deserves it.”
Danielle continued, “I feel like I deserve it and he’s so humble and so talented. And that was his time and I’m just super proud of him.”
Audiences were linked to Tongi after he revealed he had lost his father to kidney disease a few months before the audition. It was his father who brought him to music and to his future path idol was in honor of his memory.
Tongi, the inaugural winner of the Hawaii singing competition, also spoke about what winning meant for him and his culture.
