Movie buffs would know that movie theaters have started re-showing legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan’s cult films as part of his birthday celebrations. The actor turns one year older on October 11, and the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) has decided to add a little more to the celebrations. According to a Pinkvilla report, FHF’s Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and filmmaker R Balki have decided to stop screenings of the Amitabh films in cinemas at exactly 12 noon so that fans can sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the star.

FHF founder Shivendra Singh Dungarpur said: “This is happening across the country where Mr Bachchan’s films are being shot as part of our festival’s initiative. Meanwhile we play at Juhu PVR Amar Akbar Anthony today, and many dignitaries from the film industry attend the screening where they sing the “Happy Birthday” song for Mr. Bachchan will sing. This is going to be huge.”

Readers will know that as part of the anniversary celebrations of Amitabh Bachchan, a four-day festival called ‘Bachchan: Back To The Beginning’ was planned in conjunction with theaters and multiplexes, where some of the superstar’s best films will be screened. Like it Amar Akbar Anthony, mafia boss among other things. In addition, his recent release Bye starring Rashmika Mandanna will also see a discount on ticket prices as fares are reduced to Rs. 80 on October 11.
