Ant-Man 3 Producer Praises Kang The Conqueror Actor Jonathan Majors

Jonathan Majors has already first appeared as a variant of Kang, but Ant-Man 3 will be a whole new ball game.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is almost ready to fully dive into the Multiverse Saga with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and while talking to ComicBook.com recently executive producer Brian Gay touched on the upcoming movie and in particular the incoming villain.

As Phase Four of the MCU comes to an end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Phase Five will begin with the return of Paul Rudd as the size-changing hero, who will take on one of the most formidable variants of Kang the Conqueror yet seen. Gay discussed Kang’s arrival and praised actor Jonathan Majors, which is about to bring one of Marvel’s most elaborate villains to life. He said:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“Jonathan is a phenomenal actor and comes in prepared and so thoughtful, and I think part of the fun is that we have someone so talented that he can play as they say in Loki, the low keys and the high keys, and going all over the range with him I’m so excited everyone can see the incredible work he’s done I think he’s an incredible presence on the MCU And when he steps on the screen you know Kang is there He gives that embodiment and that gravitas that is so central to that character.”

Kevin Feige has teased Kang’s arrival before

The past few months have seen a number of Marvel revelations, including the first images of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While the trailer has yet to be widely released, Kevin Feige has already talked about how Quantumania will be the first step to the culmination of the Multiverse Saga in Avengers: Secret Wars, and how the torment of the multiverse is fine in the hands of Jonathan Majors. The Marvel president said:

“It comes down to the cast and with Jonathan Majors, who I think took the stage from Hall H, you know, in the three minutes he was there. It’s great, and I told him there’s no one I’d rather have.” would be.” it’s really impressive what Jonathan Majors can do and all the different incarnations, variants, if you will, of Kang that we’ll see him do. It’s really pretty cool. What I love is that he is completely different from Thanos. That he is completely different. That it’s not just about a bigger purple guy with a helmet? That’s not what Kang is. Kang is a very different type of villain and the fact that he has a lot of different characters is what is most exciting and what sets him apart the most.”

There have been plenty of fans who have been a little disappointed with the slow pace of Phase Four of the MCU, but who, in the wake of Avengers: Endgame, the franchise needed some time to catch its breath and regroup. That’s coming to an end Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwhich has its own emotional angle to deal with the death of Chadwick Boseman and the loss of his character T’Challa, and the Multiverse Saga really kicks off in 2023.
