Asit Modi opens up on why Disha Vakani will NEVER return as Dayaben on the show

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most loved and popular shows on television to date. It is one of the longest running shows on television as the show is slowly losing its charm as the original star cast left the show which started with the lead character Disha Vakani aka Dayaben who was the heart of the show and one can’t imagine the show without hair. Disha Vakani left the show shortly after she got married and later had a baby and she will never return anytime soon.

On why Disha Vakani will never return as Dayaben on the show, producer Asit Modi said in his recent interaction, “Daya bhabhi is a character that the audience cannot forget. People feel its absence”. Speaking of Disha Vakani, he added: “I respect her… the time I have waited, I even wait today and pray to God that she will come back. But she has a family and has her responsibilities towards them. Like the audience, I’m waiting too.”. In support of Disha Vakani, Asit said that today she is a married woman and also her mother and he also understands her responsibilities.

In the show, we see Jethalal carrying out a water strike as Dayaben refuses to return from her mother’s home in Ahmedabad. On why it’s necessary to still keep Dayaben alive on the show, Asit Modi said the fans want to see her and we’re doing our best to keep them hooked. Though there is a strong buzz that Dayaben’s character is played by Aishwarya Sakhuja or Kajal Pisal. However, that has not yet been confirmed. While Taarak Mehta, played by Shailesh Lodha, also left the show claiming that he didn’t have much to do on the show. We wonder if TMKOC will continue its dream run or not.
