Back to Future Stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd Reunite in NYCC

There must have been no dry eyes in the building when the stars of Back to the future reunited on stage at New York Comic-Con 2022. For a special Back to the future panel, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, who played time travelers Marty McFly and Emmett “Doc” Brown in three feature films respectively, both appeared to be talking to fans. The panel started with the two beloved actors hugging on stage and everyone in attendance cheered them on. Images of the special moment have since gone viral on social media.


Fox and Lloyd spent time on stage reminiscing about their time at work Back to the future together. Per Syfy, which includes the famous story about Fox getting into production after filming had already started with another actor, Eric Stoltz, on board to play Marty McFly. Once Fox’s schedule opened up, Stoltz was replaced by starting filming again because that’s how important it was for the filmmakers to get the actor involved.

“The announcement – at 1AM after we had been filming for six weeks – was that the actor who played Marty would no longer play Marty and we would be filming with Michael tomorrow,” Lloyd recalled. “I felt like I could barely get through the… [first] six weeks and now I had to do it again?!”

But it made sense once Fox was on set, given their chemistry, as Lloyd added, “The chemistry was there from the first scene we had, it was alive and it stayed that way for three movies. It hasn’t gone away.” , Incidentally.”

Michael J. Fox says he looks at Parkinson’s as a gift

Because his struggle with Parkinson’s disease affects his work, Michael J. Fox has officially retired as an actor. Despite the difficulties he has endured with his health, Fox remains grateful for the life he has. He told the NYCC crowd that he considers his diagnosis a “gift” because it has given him new purpose in the work he does to help others.

“You’ve given me my whole life,” Fox told fans. “The best thing that happened in my life was this. Parkinson’s is a gift. I’ve told people it’s a gift and they say, ‘You’re crazy.’ I say, “Yeah, but it’s the gift that keeps on taking.” But it’s a gift and I wouldn’t trade it for anything… It’s not about what I have, it’s about what I got.”

At the end of the panel, Lloyd channeled Doc Brown by telling the crowd, “Your future is what you make it, so make it a good one!”
