We caught up with Rajeev for a quick chat and he revealed one of the most shocking incidents while shooting for Bloody Daddy. The actor shared that he was seriously injured while filming for Bloody Daddy.

During an exclusive chat with BollywoodLife, Rajeev Khandelwal shares an anecdote that will blow your mind. Spoiler Alert, in case you haven’t seen Bloody Daddy, Rajeev Khandelwal and Shahid Kapoor have a big showdown towards the end of the movie. There is a realistic fight scene between Sameer (Khandelwal) and Sumair (Kapoor) in which they beat each other up quite a bit. Guess what? Rajeev was badly injured while filming the scene. “I broke my leg doing that action sequence. I completed the entire sequence in a high knee brace.” The actor shared that he hadn’t spoken about it before because he didn’t want anyone to picture him in the knee brace and perform the action scene. That speaks volumes about what a dedicated actor Rajeev is, doesn’t it?

Bloody Daddy actor Rajeev had to undergo surgery immediately due to an injury
Chatting with us, Rajeev went on to explain that he kept shooting and by the evening they realized he would need surgery. The injury occurred in the morning. “Initially I thought it would work, but by the evening it did and then Himanshu (Himanshu Kishan Mehra, producer), Ali Abbas Zafar and Shahid and he made a decision to have his MRI done,” recalls Rajeev. The actor adds that at the hospital they said he needed surgery right away. Rajeev called his orthopedist in Bombay and received another shocking news. Rajeev Khandelwal’s orthopedist said he cannot have his surgery done due to swelling.

The actor adds that the scene between him and Shahid was one of the most elaborate and expensive and was shot in a span of two, two and a half days. “I knew there was so much money at stake, I had to do it.” Rajeev shares that Ali, the director, was very supportive and told him that they can do it later and health comes first. Even producer Himanshu echoed Ali’s feelings, but Rajeev couldn’t stay in his room without finishing the sequence. The next day he was on set with a knee brace and with the help of body doubles and the team he finished the whole scene.
That’s extremely painful and inspiring to hear at the same time, isn’t it?
