Bob Saget’s presence was felt at Jodie Sweetin’s wedding, says John Stamos

Maybe deceased actor Bob Saget couldn’t be there in person for his TV daughter’s recent wedding, but John Stamos felt that his old friend and Full room co-star was there in spirit. Since the cast of the classic sitcom has stayed very close over the years, Saget would definitely have been there to watch Jodie Sweetin getting married in July. Unfortunately, that was not possible as Saget passed away in January at the age of 65.

In a new interview with Entertainment tonightStamos shared a story about how Saget showed up at the wedding in a way. The actor says he was running behind when it was time to leave for the wedding, and the shirt he was wearing was too tight. Just before he left, he ran inside and quickly grabbed a black shirt from his closet before going out. It wasn’t until he noticed that the shirt was quite loose that he realized it was Saget’s shirt, which had been given to him by Saget’s widow along with some of the actor’s belongings.

“I’m driving and it feels big, and when I got there I looked and I realized – because Bob’s wife Kelly gave us a lot of stuff – and it was Bob’s shirt. My hand to God. And, I started crying when I realized this. I said, ‘Jodie, Bob is here.'”

Bob Saget is deeply missed by his full house family

Even before and after fuller house strung for five seasons on Netflix, the Full room cast had met regularly. Stamos also touched on that special relationship with the cast, noting that it’s not the norm compared to what happens to most other television shows when they end. He waves back to Saget, noting that it was Bob who had always gone out of his way to get everyone together, making him all the more missed on every special occasion that presents itself these days.

“Most of the shows are done and they hate each other. It was something special. As the years passed and the show meant more to people, we come together more. We support each other. We’ve been through a lot together. We’re always there for each other That started with Bob too, which is why we all miss him so much, because he was such a big part of our lives.”

Stamos took part in a special tribute to Saget that premiered on Netflix this summer as a way to say goodbye to his old friend. He’s no longer with us physically, but for Stamos, he believes Saget still pops up every now and then to say hello.
