After a very mediocre first weekend at the cash register, HIT – The first case crashed during the weekdays. The only time it saw any kind of battle was on Saturday, when the collections grew somewhat after a bad Friday. However, with no real growth on Sunday, the writing was clearly on the wall for the Rajkummar Rao starrer. It was clear that the film was going to disappear on Monday, but not to the extent it did when the numbers couldn’t even reach Rs. 0.75 crores, an absolute surprise considering that Friday itself was Rs. 1.35 crores.

This is why if the collections continued to dwindle on Tuesday, it’s not entirely surprising because in the present day if a movie fails, then it fails massively without any delay. This wasn’t really the case until the pandemic when at least movies got a chance to perform as long as they were reasonably well made. That’s actually the case with this investigative drama that shows off a good performance by Rajkummar Rao and has a sense of being on the edge of the seat. Yet to begin with, it has never found buyers and is now in an impossible situation.

With just Rs. 6.79 crores* in its pussy so far, the film still has a few days to perform, but that’s about it. That would make it a week long show if shamshera arrives this Friday and not that it would open bumper too, but at least grab so much public attention that there wouldn’t be another movie in sight. Sorry, but HIT – The first case has been a flop.

* Estimates. Last numbers waited
