Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra shows an excellent trend at the box office on Saturday despite a bumper opening day. According to early estimates Brahmastra has collected in the range of €41.25 to 43.25 crores on the second day, taking the two-day total collection to Rs. $79 million. The film showed a jump of about 20 percent on the second day, and this is a positive sign for the long term.

Ideally, movies that open at record levels with negative talk will remain flat on Saturday and Brahmastra has shown a jump indicating that the conversation is not negative among the audience. The single screens are also stable on the second day and the platform is now ready to explode on Sunday. Brahmastra will record its biggest day since release tomorrow and this would be its opening weekend across India to Rs. 120+ crore net which is a record for Hindi movies.

On Saturday, the Hindi version collected around Rs. 37.50 crores, and the two-day Hindi total of Brahmastra stands at Rs. 69.50 crores. The opening weekend for the Hindi version will be around Rs. 110 crores, which is just phenomenal for a non-holiday release. The Telugu version, as expected, has dropped from Rs. 4 crores net to Rs. 3 crores net on Saturday, but the Tamil version is up almost 50 percent.

The 3D version records a dream run, while IMAX 3D has clocked in the best lineup for an Indian film to date. The mass belts are now also catching up with 2D occupancy increasing day by day. When families come out in droves on Sundays, Brahmastra has a great chance to get close to the Rs. 50 crore mark (all versions) and this would be an indication that the film will stick with audiences in the long run.
